Mid-may 98:
After a bit of hemming, hawing, and hamming around, I played with a WP-2 that came my way, and then went (gasp) so far as to trade my Model 102 for the WP-2. I'll be making a bit of an effort to write more about these suckers, because there's lots of M10x information out there, but ZERO on the WP-2. The only site I could find was Tandy support, with text manuals and hints and all (the official Tandy version for the WP-2 of what Andy Diller at Web100 has done on his own). Excellent Model 100 sites exist, but I don't know of any for the WP-2. I'd like to provide information for people like me who want more. If you have comments about the WP-2 to send me, I'd be happy to include them. Mail to wittmann@physics.umd.edu.

For those who don't know, the WP-2 is a word processor only. That's what I want. The processor is faster, like it matters, and the software is a bit more developed. I won't have to transfer files if I can just dump them to the printer (I suppose I could be doing that now, but it's easier with a WP-2 and you have more formatting possibilities). Most importantly to me, the screen holds twice as many characters, it's thinner and lighter, and I am not interested in either the BASIC programming nor the modem of the Model 102.

Trust me, there will be more. I've got a lot to learn, and I'm trying to write down my learning curve to help others when and if they ever come this way.

Ciao, all.
