Then came the radio station here. Free jazz fled in the way of electronic music (a return to the Wax Trax mindset from 89, really), and finally I hit up against world music. Not, say, world music in the sense of hybrid western-indigenous material (usually a shitty overlay of western cheezy ass new age crap guitar with some native percussion loop, totally gutted of joyful synchopation and energy), but world music in the sense of the original material, what's really popular or historically interesting in a given area. You can read more about that aspect of my life (since it's the part that has come into being during my web-active life) by going to other pages, such as the review page for WMUC and other recordings of mine. That's where you can get a more active view of what is going on how and when in my life. Continuing eclecticism, that's really the point. Enjoy. So much for the historical review, though, hope you've enjoyed it.... Ciao, Michael. |
